Comedian, podcaster, and COVID anti-vaxxer Joe Rogan announced he is focusing only on eating meat for the next 30 days. He's done something similar before. During that 30 day period, he only ate meat and fruit. Not only is he forgoing the fruit this time around, but Rogan is also looking to "elevate" his immune system by drinking his own urine.
There are many anti-COVID celebrities promoting anti-scientific cures. One of them is Christopher Key. Mr. Key believes in the power of God and the power of urine.
“The antidote that we have seen now, and we have tons and tons of research, is urine therapy. OK, and I know to a lot of you this sounds crazy, but guys, God’s given us everything we need." - Christopher Key
Those familiar with Joe Rogan's bout with COVID aren't surprised that he's deciding to drink his own pee. After all, when he came down with the virus he took the horse dewormer ivermectin.
Dietitians, virologists, and anyone with a healthy amount of common sense will tell you two things: 1, Ivermectin is an antiparasitic medication. It does not offer any health benefits in the fight against COVID; 2, Drinking your own pee is a really bad idea.
Dr. Andrew Canard is an epidemiologist at Miskatonic Hospital in Provident, RI. He is astounded at the lengths anti-vaxxers will take to avoid getting vaccinated. "What's next? Poo?" he said.
Those close to Joe Rogan say nothing is off the table when it comes to his diet.
